I am Tanya Bindra, founder of this travel blog. The picture below is basically photographic evidence of how glad I am to have you stop by my little corner on the WWW.
After years of getting lost (both literally and figuratively) across Europe, I’ve become something of a connoisseur for charming cafes, hidden alleyways, and the occasional wrong turn. On this website, I spill all secrets – whether you’re looking for the best gelato in town, or secret Instagram backdrops.
I started My Right Sock in 2018, shortly after moving to Germany.
The blog’s name came to me in a moment of sheer genius — or perhaps sheer desperation — as I rummaged through my suitcase in an Innsbruck hostel, realizing I had packed 10 left socks and only 4 right.
The idea was simple: to document my adventures, mishaps, and those unforgettable moments that come with exploring new places. /Like when I visited a Mediterranean island inhabited by a total of 4 people, or the time I ordered a harmless latte at a cafe in Milan, which somehow ended with me drinking a glass of milk.

Here’s what you can expect from My Right Sock:
While I’m still treading the path of self-realization and making small but significant discoveries every day, here’s a feeble attempt at describing myself.
I’m an Indian thoroughbred, currently living in the historic city of Berlin, Germany, and imbibing as much German-ness as I can (you know what they say, when in Rome 🤷♀️)
You’ll mostly find me typing away zealously on Evernote (particularly at night: million-dollar ideas inevitably strike at 3 am), or turning pages of a gripping book, making verbose talk with animated gesticulations, or looking up fares on Skyscanner and daydreaming about teleporting to exotic locations.
In my head, I’m really funny. While I’ve been told otherwise on multiple occasions, that rarely discourages me from making a joke whenever I find the chance – which is, well, all the time. In my defense, I try to look for humor in everything, which is kind of the point of life, isn’t it?
